Winter 2025 United Chess Classes 1-3rd grades

We are excited to offer a Winter session of After School Chess on Wednesdays and Thursdays beginning January 8. Chess has been proven to increase analytical and critical thinking skills. Chess makes creative problem solving into an enjoyable and stimulating game. Countless studies have shown that test scores, self - esteem, concentration and creative thinking increase after being exposed to chess. 

Wednesday Chess is open to grades 1-2. Thursday chess is open to grades 2-3. The Winter Session of Wednesday Chess will meet once a week for 10 sessions on Wednesday afternoons from 2:45 – 4:15 PM. The dates for the program are: 1/8, 1/15, 1/22. 2/5, 2/12, 2/26. 3/5, 3/12, 3/19, 3/26. 

The Winter Session of Thursday Chess will meet once a week for 10 sessions on Thursday afternoons from 2:45 – 4:15 PM. The dates for the program are: 1/9, 1/16, 1/23, 1/30. 2/6, 2/13, 2/27, 3/13, 3/20, 3/27. 

*If a class is canceled due to weather, we will hold a makeup class on a later date. The fee for the 10 classes is $200.

This is ideal for students who wish to improve their chess skills, learn new strategies and eventually compete in a tournament at the novice level. Our coaches provide fun and engaging chess instruction. They work to foster chess growth and spread their love of chess with the student population.
