We are excited to offer another session of after school chess team on Thursdays. Chess has been proven to increase analytical and critical thinking skills. Chess makes creative problem solving into an enjoyable and stimulating game. Countless studies have shown that test scores, self - esteem, concentration and creative thinking increase after being exposed to chess.
Chess TEAM is open to grades 5 and up (younger students can join by permission only) The Fall session of chess team will meet once a week for 10 sessions on Thursday afternoons from 4:15 - 5:35 PM. The dates for the program are
9/18, 9/25, 10/9, 10/16, 10/23, 10/30, 11/6, 11/13, 11/20, 12/11 *Note no class on 10/2, 12/4**
If a class is canceled for any reason, we will hold a makeup class on a later Date. The fee for the 10 classes is $200 Signups are electronic.
Students will have a chess lesson and then have puzzle solving challenges before having the opportunity to practice against their peers. Students will be assigned exercises to work on in between sessions. Chess Team Members will be invited to compete in competitions.
